Day 4: Wednesday

Boy am I tired. We visited Kyungbok Palace then the underground temple of King Sejong the Great, where I wrote in Hungul (the Korean Writing System). We ate Soojaebi (hot soup) then walked all around a fourth of Seoul. Because it is so late I am not going to write anymore for now and just post some pictures instead. XOXO

Day 3

Lunch...(Melanie said I needed to include pictures of food) the best meal I have had in Korea, so far. I am not sure what it was all called but it was delicious and from a restaurant called Bulgogi. We then finished the meal with a mini iced caribou coffee. After lunch I received a personal driven tour of the majority of Seoul, which is a massive city. I saw the Han River, Olympic Stadium, World Cup Stadium, and many apartment buildings. In my high heels I then climbed to the top of Eungbong Mountain saw a spectacular view of the city considering the fog/smog and then made my way down the stairs once again in my heels. This is why tennis shoes were invented. My evening concluded with a visit to one of the KSU students homestay family.

Day 3: Tuesday

This morning breakfast consisted of hamburgers and cereal. My roommate was surprised to hear that this was not typical in the US. Culture Shock can start with hamburgers. :) Then it was off to visit 2 elementary schools. They were very clean, well organized, and stocked with materials (all in Korean). However, no A.C. as it is to costly. Here are some pictures of one of the schools and its roof top garden.

Day 2: Continued

After the opening ceremony (where I found out I have to write term papers) we headed out for shopping at the local Korean TESCO. I pondered purchasing a local delicacy of SPAM but opted for a picture instead. We then headed out for a little Korean fast food dining; I am still not sure what I ate. On the way back to the dorm I saw a group of boys playing, not soccer, basketball or any other outside sport but boys crowded around playing video games on the street.

Day 2: Monday This is my dorm room where I will staying for the next month. The good thing is there is Wireless and a cool breeze up on the 4th floor. I just got back from breakfast and having a long walk around the university campus. The humidity is bad and it is only 9:30am. The pictures are of the bedroom and of my roommate Micky and I. P.S. I have a curfew again, 11pm.
